Last Dance Song

Just wondering what everyone's last dance song is.

At weddings, which do you think (your personal prefrence) is better for the last dance: a slow song or a fast song?

We can't seem to think of any songs to use for any part of the reception!! I figured the last dance one would be the easiest!

Hi Lori! Nice to see you on the boards! I am thinking a fast-ish song.

Right now I am between Rusted root-send me on my way and the proclaimers-im gonna be (aka I will walk 500 miles.) I am leaning towards the proclaimers

My MOH did 'Don't Stop Believin' for her and it was a huuuuuuuge hit!

I want to do 'We Are the Champions' but I'm not sure FH is sold on it....sooo I'm not sure if it'll be fast or slow.

we're copying my friend and her hubby (their DJ did it without talking to them about it)

the last song will be OUR song
so basically the first song played is your first dance... the dj announced 'let's end this night the same way we started it, congratulations X&Y'

my brother did that. i did think it was very cool but for our wedding i think we will do fast...end it on a party note

I think we're def going to use 'The Time of My Life' from Dirty Dancing.
It has alot of sentimental value to me. My cousin and I watched that movie non-stop when we were little (I never truely understood it until I reached highschool lol)
Also FH and I practice 'the lift'

I think we're def going to use 'The Time of My Life' from Dirty Dancing.

omg thats so cute. i'd love to do the lift but fh wouldnt be able to lift my fat@ss in my huge@ss dress that high!!

FH and I love 'Save the last dance for me' by michael buble....its always our favorite song at weddings so this will probably be our last song

I am walking down the aisle to this song! <3 it!!!!


We'll be having this played during dinner. The singer in Code Bleu that sings this song blows me away when he sings it. This is actually the song that sold us on Code Bleu. When we heard them do it at the showcase, as soon as he hit that last note, FH turned to me and said 'book'em!'


Doesn't he do an insane job with that song?!? We will have him sing it at some point too.

We are doing Save the Last Dance because FH and I like the story behind how/why it was written

This may not be true, but my sister told me this story, and I love it so if you know the real story, don't ruin it for me lol

The guy who wrote the song was paralyzed from the waist down shortly after he got married. He was afraid his wife would want to leave him, so he wrote the song for her. All about how she could still go out and have fun, but he'd always be waiting to take her home.

I think it is adorable. I'm such a sap.


I was told the same story!! And she was dancing with other guys and he got self-conscious and melancholy and wrote that song.

We did Journey's Faithfully..it ended up everyone in a huge circle swaying and singing at the top of our lungs. It was pretty hysterical, like we were in a bar rocking out lol.

I would go with a fast dance. The slow dances usually have less people on the dance floor, so I think it's best to keep people going and finish with lots of energy

I was thinking We are Family by Sister Sledge or Last Dance by Donna Summer.
