I'm leaving my job for good, after 6 years, and the teachers in my deptartment got together and bought me a cake-cutting knife from Lenox - it's very pretty and something I totally would have registered for and now I don't have to! They are so sweet. It's weird to be leaving a job after six looooooong years, but I have better things on the horizon - nothing official till tomorrow, though, and I don't want to jinx it so I'll post about it then!

Hehee, thanks for your concern! I got another teaching offer, and I go meet with the district superintendent tomorrow. I think it's just a formality, but who knows, maybe if I have spinach in my teeth or something he'll be grossed out and decide not to hire me...
I know it's silly but I'm superstitious and my mom raised me never to celebrate anything BEFORE it actually happens. Like, when I was a kid, if my birthday was on a Monday, I'd have to wait till the next weekend for my birthday party, not have it the day before like my other friends would have. (Wow, 20 years later and I'm still bitter, go figure!)

Yeah, 'confidence' isn't usually my strong suit, but the principal told me that I got the job; I just need 'final approval' from the district superintendent. Knowing that I've already passed the first two rounds of interviews, though, does make me feel pretty confident going in there - it's like, 'Yeah, we all know you're going to hire me, let's just get this step over with...'. So unlike me! But a really nice feeling.
