Last minute Cancellations

Last minute Cancellations

I don't know why this bothers me so much...Probably because I have to Re-do my Guest list over and over again everytime someone cancels. I originally had 217 guests as my final headcount. We are down to 209 as of today. Ofcourse I'm happier that they are telling me before my final payment (Tuesday), but it still get's under my skin for some reason. Oh well....

9 Days
3 Hours
46 Minutes
22 Seconds

WOO HOO!

We had the opposite...people calling us asking if it was too late to come to the wedding. Eight people did this to us...gotta love family!

I know...I am soooo over the guest list!! I have to run to the post office today to re-mail 2 invites because people 'lost' thiers and requested a duplicate... Good thing they were DIY and I can just whip em together or else they would be SOL!!People!!

yup, it's ridiculous. We had the same thing. People calling and begging to be invited, we send them the invitations and they call us the NIGHT before saying they can't make it. Plus, the no shows we had that day from unexpected people

That's just ridiculous....I will be furious. Is it unusual if I was to ask my hall for some kind of compensation being that I had already paid for all of these guests if a bunch decided to no show. Like an extension on the party or something?

You can ask for the plates you paid for to be wrapped up and given to you after the wedding is over. That is what we did, and they also included everything from VH

If you asked for an extension for the party, you will most likely incur extra costs for the DJ/Band staying later, photographers staying later, etc.

Definitely give them a final count of a few less than what you have. They prob won't even notice if you have more the day of. Id rather owe them money that night for the extra people, then pay for people that didn't come ( like we did).

I would tell them a few less than your final count when you make that last payment it will give you some wiggle room if more people cancel after or don't show up at all.

i'm sorry you have to go through the hassle of the guest list! but at least, like you said, they are telling you this before you make your final payment!
