My mom and her cousin are planning on a last-minute vacation to the Dominican Republic on Thursday or Friday. They want me to find somethng for them online (since they are bad with computers) but I don't know where is good in the Dominican Republic. I stiopped there once on a cruise but we went to a private island. I notice thre are three airports also. They want to stay on the beach near an airport. Anyone have any suggestions?

Punta Cana is gorgeous (but it's also more of a couples resort area).... but you can also look into Puerto Plata and La Romana.
ETA: In Puerto Plata you want to be near Playa Dorada.

I went to Puerto Plata and stayed at the Sun Village resort. The place was gorgeous but if they are looking for a nice beach, I would suggest Punta Cana. Here is the link to their site.. Sun Village

Punta Cana has the best beach. There are alot of hotels there...the Melia Caribe Tropical is great (I send lots of clients there), the Barvaro Barcelo Palace is good to....also the Grand Flemenco or the Grand Paradise, Paradisus....just to name a few. Secrets is adults only (they will find more couples there...)
Puerto Plata is good too, the Grand Ventana and also the Iberostar Costa Dorada (I send lots of clients there too)
I dont really send too many clients to La Romanna/Santo Domingo area.

we have been to Punta Cana and La Romana and both places are not that far from the airport... I can recommend the Iberostar hotels, we looooved them, especially the one in La Romana - Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus...

Thanks everybody! We booked Barcelo Bavaro Caribe Hotel in Punta Cana I hope it is good or my mom and her cousin will blame me! I found so many others but they were booked!
