Last night I was woken up to a loud alarm

last night at 2.45 am my water alarm went off for about an hour last night.
We didnt realize what it was for a very long time, dh and I were going crazy to figure out what it was, it sounded
like a smoke alarm but it wasnt. We had just moved in recently and the person before us never warned us about an
alarm, My question is why would it go off? There was no water leak that would set it off?

I have no idea. I just wanted to say that I have never heard of a water alarm. Is it supposed to warn you of flooding, leaks, etc?

Do you have well water? Maybe you're going dry or the pump needs to be replaced?
