****Last QOTD 4/3/09********

Iwant to thank you wonderful ladies for subjecting yourselves to my insane questions. It was alot of fun and I could have been alittle better BOTW by answering and replying more, but its been a rough week.

Here is my last question.....

Knowing the divorce rate is pretty high. What are you going to try to do to keep you and FH together till your old and crusty???

I'm a firm believer in saying at least one compliment a day (Even though I've been slacking.. Its a trend of mine.. Don't hate on my slacking skills ). Also trying to talk things out rather then ignore eachother like we're in 3rd grade. We do that at times but we're getting better about speaking rather then walking in the other room and playing the silent treatment game.

Also as I was told by a 87 year old woman... I kid you not she told me. 'Don't stop giving oral.. Thats how you lose the Uhmp in the relationship and it gets boring as all heck'

OMG still laughing about the oral comment. .

This is what I will do

1. Keep having dates as if you were new to each other. .. even like pretend you are meeting in a bar

2. Make sure you have computer free time. (like don't just plug in and not connect. (can you imagine our great grandparents reading this).

3. Try to have a least one new experience a year.

4. Don't stop giving .. . .

lmfaooooo@ the oral comment
I am going to try to do the following things:

1. Try to talk all things out and don't go into the yelling and screaming matches.
2.Always try to do something fun and exciting as to not to go into the same daily rut.
3. Take the 87 yr olds advise

Well, this is a question that hits close to home for me. I was really thrown for a loop a couple of weeks ago when one of my good friends announced that she and her husband were getting divorced. (We all thought they had a great relationship and a great marriage).

FH and I have started pre-marriage counseling. So far, we are loving it. It makes us think a little bit more about our relationship instead of getting caught up in the wedding planning. It's only been two sessions so far and I can honestly say that we both feel a little bit more in love with each other than when we started. Also, I think it reaffirms the belief that we both share that we were meant to be together!

Because you guys are a fan of what the grandma said I must tell you the rest of the convo.. I nearly peed when this was said.

' Honey listen' after so many years that little things ends up looking like a chinese sharpe's face. You still have to love it just like you loved it back when you married the boner attached that shriveled mess'

I love old people

LOL

1) Keep the little things going: hidden notes in his briefcase, random 'I love you emails and texts' etc

2) break out the F & P's ( fishnets and Pumps) every now and again..

3) make date time/ weekend getaways a priority. Once you start a family it becomes harder to have that alone time so I will try to always make time for him

4) Simply remember why I said 'yes' and remember that life is too short for silly arguments. Also we'll have to both on putting our pride aside.

Great Question

Could you imagine doing that at 80!!!!!!!

Well, right now me and FH are going through a rough patch, so I wouldn't consent to a divorce just to punish him. He already knows this. My grandparents have been married for over 50 years and hate each others guts, so I'm already used to this.

That being said, when he's not being an insufferable arrogant prick, I will try not to nag him, and I will try to make him feel even more important than he already thinks he is.

1. don't give up.. when times get rough look towards the future or even the past to remember the good times

2. stay honest and faithful.. since infidelity is one of the most common reasons people divorce if you take that out of the equation its one less thing to worry about

3. have fun... and take time out for yourself... don't feel like you ALWAYS have to do things with your spouse... a night out with the girls is great for your relationship..

2009 marks not only the year i get married but my parents 25th wedding anniversary and my grandparents 50th...

we have never had a divorce on either sides of my family and i want to keep it that way...

1. Know that no matter what we are in this together. From Hell and Back No Matter What. Out is not an option.

2. Communication. Communication. Communication.

3. Take the old ladys advice
(Keep him happy at home.)

4. Take time to slow down together. A weekend away every once in a while can do great things for a relationship.
