Today's question is a little less focused on the wedding and more on life...

I'm in a job that takes me away from FH right now, but then when I move I'm going to make him leave his job too. Sooo eventually, we're going to have to make a decision on what we want to do with our lives, haha

Are you doing what makes you happy right now (career wise)? If you could get any job you wanted doing something else, would you? Is getting married going to have any influence on what you're doing compared to if you were single (ie: deciding to go back to school, become a stay at home mom...)

Right now I'm doing exactly what I want (I do hate my job in Greenland but in the big picture I like what i'm doing). I'm hoping for a transfer to Germany, but I'm not looking at getting out of the military just yet.

Now in about 5 years my answers will change, because I can't keep uprooting FH from what he's doing, so I think when I get out I'll go back to school again, for a 2nd masters maybe in counseling. I have absolutely no idea what else I would like to do with my life.

Being married will definately change my career choices, because if it wasn't for FH I wouldn't get out, but I'm ok with that. I know I have to put our family first and I can enjoy the travels for the next few years and then it'll be FH's turn to grow career wise and I'll find something new and fun to do.

I'm exactly where I want to be. great school, love what I do teaching HS math, and getting married isn't changing that one bit. for me at least...

now, FH....he's getting out of the military for me and changing what otherwise probably would've became his career. It's mostly because I'm rooted and established in my career, and uprooting and moving with a family/deployments and such would be so hard. he's gonna re-work his and go to PA school.

I am a music teacher and love it! This is what i always wanted and i'm lucky to have found this great job where i wake up every morning and am happy about going to work. Even if i won the lottery i think i would keep the job so getting married has no influence on it.
I made sure to get my life together (job and economics) first and then i found my man. So things are working out great :)

I love my job. im a pre k teacher at a school for students with language/communication disabilities :)
if i could do anything i want id be an elementary teacher :)
nah, nothings going to change :)

Thankfully I AM doing what I love! I have always wanted to be a teacher! I work my butt off to make a great salary, get great benefits and the hours and summers off will allow me to one day enjoy the 2nd job I have always wanted...to become a mother.

I would love to be a stay at home mom for a year or so after each child but realistically, I dont' think that will happen. It's so tough for young couples to make it on LI so for now... i consider myself lucky to have a job I love (on most days) and that is conducive to a lifestyle that I would like to have.

I have always wanted to work for a big firm in NYC...I do now and it is great because I reached my goal and I make a good salary... but when I think about the future it worries me that I won't spend enough time with my children. If money wasn't an issue I would def change jobs to something with less hours and a shorter commute.

Marriage shouldn't change anything in terms of our careers. I wish I could support us both so he can go back to school or open his own restaurant

I am doing what makes me happy right now (teaching elementary music), but because FH is in medical school he doesn't know where he could be getting placed - could be on LI could in in CA. These are the things that make life so exciting! You never know what will come your way.

I really like my job (legal assistant) and im good at it lol.. but when FH and I have kids if we can afford it im gonna stay home with the kids until they start school.

If you could get any job you wanted doing something else, would you? Nope, I've always wanted to teach children with special needs.

Is getting married going to have any influence on what you're doing compared to if you were single (ie: deciding to go back to school, become a stay at home mom...) I would like to go back to school to get a second masters in administration, but saving up for a wedding and a house makes that impossible right now.

I'm happy with what I'm doing, but money is definitely an issue. It's the only thing I hate... and it makes me feel like I shouldn't go for my MBA because if I don't start making money, I'll be paying for school forever and FH will continue to support us both. Other than that, I'm happy. I have a great job, great benefits, great hours.

When we get married, we want to buy a house and I am honestly scared about trying to find a place with my income.

I love what i am doing right now i am a Teachers aide for a one on one and i love my job and i am could not ask for anything more and getting married is not going to be changing anything. FH is an assitant manager in retail so nothing is going to change for us.
