Last question regarding invites..lol i swear

so my wedding list was getting to be too many people..and my parents were complaining (they are paying) so there are several friends of mine that i didn't invite with a guest..I tried to stick with only friends with serious relationships..is this rude? should I have invited everyone with a guest?

I only gave guests to those who were in serious relationships...and only if we had met their bf/gf

Its definitely not rude, your friends will understand

it is absolutely not rude at all...i did not invite everyone with a guest...it just isnt possible financially for ourselves or our families... i have a bunch of single guy friends who are all friends with one another...they will have a good time with one another...its not like they dont know anyone there! plus if i invited them all with a guest, god only knows what they would have dragged in off the streets lol

this has always been a topic for discussion on here kristen

personally, i invited everyone with a guest
most people dont bring a random person anyway, but i just felt like they should have a choice as an adult

sorry, JMHO

i dont think people drag people in off the streets to go to weddings

people also realize that if they bring a date, they have to , or should give a larger gift - if they dont have a date, they dont bring one

like i said before, most people dont bring random guys or girls

i think its just weird to put a time limit on what constitutes a serious relationship or not

you know your friends kristen, im sure you can gauge who would bring a random person, and who would just like the OPTION of bringing someone

no, definitely not rude. I did the same thing. Anyone without a SIGNIFICANT other whose name I knew, was invited alone. The only exception for this was if they didn't kow anyone at the wedding.

I refused to write 'and guest' on any envelope. I did tell some of them though that if they met someone between then and now that they couldnt imagine spending a night without to let me know..lol

This is so hard for me....

I want to invite everyone with a guest to give them the option as Laura said, however, the issue really came up when I realized I didn't have inner envelopes and everywhere i read said 'do not write and guest on the outer envelope' so that's when I started thinking that I'm inviting 20 people from work who all know each other, if I add a guest to each, that's 40 people instead of 20. I did ask them though and they said they are all coming alone because they know everyone.

You have to do what's right for you. If you invite your friend as a single and they really wanted to bring someone, they would call you and ask, i hope.
