Late dress: need advice

Re: Late dress: need advice

I would go down to the dress shop and demand that she call the designer in front of you. This way she can ask them, with you there, for the exact shipping info. I would also try to contact the dress designer yourself and explain to them that you're getting married in a little over a month. In the meantime, i would start looking at David's Bridal and see what they can do. I know someone who had her dress from there in one week, with alterations and all!

Good luck!!!

I agree, go down there during the day and tell them to call the manufacturer right then and there and get a ship/delivery date. PERIOD
But dont worry too much, usually you only have 2 fittings before you pick it up so as long as you have that you should be ok, but even then-they are giving you the run around.

She can find out by calling the designer. The designer wants people to buy so they will provide good customer service.
Demand that she call- you need to know!

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the shop is in CA (as is the buying office) and I am on the East Coast. This was a dress shop that was highly recommended on The Knot and The Wedding Channel forums, had a satisfactory Better Business Bureau rating, etc...all the right credentials.

I asked the shop owner firmly if she and I could do a three-way call with the buying office together to nail the buying ofc down on a date. The owner refused, saying she did not want to give up her sources.

Absolutely not good enough IMO. You should demand that she call the shop with you on the line if she wants to avoid a complaint to the BBB.

Good luck! I hope it all works out for you!!
