Re: late night wedding
dont worry, its fine. My ceremony was at 4 p.m. and the cocktail started at 7:30 pm, just one hr in difference. People like to party late
You have nothing to worry about! IMO evening weddings are the most fun! Especially on a Saturday night, people will be ready to party - don't worry! If it makes you feel any better, most of the weddings I've been to (including my own) ended at 1 am or later.

Re: late night wedding
those are my exact times as well! don't worry! at first I was a little apprehensive but then I was like, you know what? It's the weekend and people are gonna go out anyway- so why not for something as important as their close friend/family wedding? just have fun and enjoy your day!

Re: late night wedding
It's going to be a blast! I would definitely enjoy a night wedding! My ceremony is 5:30-7:pm, CH begins at 8pm. We're partying till 1am- these have always been my favorite types of weddings.

Re: late night wedding
I love late night weddings. You have nothing to worry about most people will stay there until the very end on a Saturday night. My wedding finished at 1:30 and then they went to hang out in the hotel bar to continue the party.

Re: late night wedding
I'm not doing a late night. Most of my guests are older and would not be up for something that late. I only have like 5 friends of mine coming so thye would be nearly the only ones left by 10pm.
I am having my ceremony at the hall starting at 5:30, CH @ 6 & Reception at 7. Everything should be wrapped up by 11.

Re: late night wedding
Don't even worry one bit - most people are used to late night weddings.
My ceremony was a 3:30pm and the cocktail hour didn't start until 7:30pm - the whole reception wasn't over until 1am.
Just enjoy your day and everyone else will too!

Re: late night wedding
its perfectly fine, mine was from 7:30-1:30am.
The funny thing is my family was like 'OMG 1:30am so early to end a wedding' in my culture weddings end at like 5-6am. They dont understand why american RH's end so early

Re: late night wedding
I was going to do a 7PM call 730 ceremony but then I realized 8-9 cocktail hour and then no dinner until like 10-1030 and I felt bad doing that...
So I moved it up an hour. 630 ceremony.....

Re: late night wedding
My times are 8:15 - 1:15 my church ceremony is at 2:30! I can't worry about it. *Of course* I want people to come to the ceremony, but I'd much rather they come to the reception... we're working real hard to make it special.

Re: late night wedding
I think it's best. My wedding is ending at 11, and I'm scrambling creating plans for everyone after. I'm having so many ooters I feel I need to keep the party going for them. I'd love it to go to 1:30. Have fun!
