LAUNDRY: Help! black pants and button down shirts

I?m having a hard time ironing black clothing (especially button down shirts and pants). Whenever I iron they become shiny. I thought it might have been too hot so I lowered to the lowest setting and still the same outcome.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution not to get them shiny/worn out look?

If the fabric is getting shiny then you probably should not iron it, or use a cool iron only.

I would use a clothes steamer rather than an iron

ETA: You could probably turn the clothes inside-out & place a clean towel (with no pattern or colouring) between the iron & the clothes, that might help

Thank you for you suggestions.

Yeah I checked they all say you can iron them on the lowest setting.

I agree, use a towel, or a washcloth may be even easier because it wouldn't be as cumbersome
