Laundry question

Can I use fabric softener sheets with Nicky's clothes? I know liquid softener does something to the flame resistance. Do the sheets affect it too???

Re: Laundry question

Good question!! I wondered that myself and I read somewhere that you couldn't, but I don't know if that's totally true. And not for nothing but that Dreft just doesn't cut it for me with the smell!! I thought baby clothes were supposed to have that 'baby smell' !! (Don't mind me, I'm a smell freak!!! )

Then I must be a freak too because I feel the same way about smells.

I must have the most slippery child on the planet because I'm CONSTANTLY lubing him up with baby lotion so that he has that 'baby smell'.

I love smells too! in fact they make a baby cologne, that is safe for babies but I can't remember the name and it's used predomintely in the latin community...anyone know?

I use fabric softner (Snuggle or Downey) and if you 'hang' the clothes dry the smell stays, if you put them in the dryer forget it, there is no smell except hot dryer smell.

I heard that the Baby Care All detergent has a really nice smell.

Re: Laundry question

I would read the back of the dryer sheet box. I read just yesterday - funny you asked the question today - that you should not use fabric softner on baby clothes as it makes the clothes more flamable.

I had no idea!

I can't remember where I heard it... , but ... dryer sheets are not recommended.

I wash all of his clothes in Dreft... separate from mommy's and daddy's of course - and dry 'em w/o any fabric softener.

And I agree, no delicious baby smell here, either. I use lotion on him only when he'll stay still for me. Those days are over.
