Le Creuset, what would you do?

So we received a nice le creuset covered casserole dish for a shower gift but we didn't register for any of it b/c it's so expensive. I feel bad taking it back BBB but it is the colbalt blue color and we have all white baking dishes.

What would you do?

if i felt bad, i'd prob try to just exchange it for a white one.

If the non-matching bothers you I'd exchange it for white, but if not I'd keep it as is especially if you don't have the whole set. That way it's more like a special stand-alone piece.

Maybe I am biased since I love blue

I collect Le Creuset--new and antique--and while I'd keep it because my collection is all different colors, if white is what you have, then I'd return it

I'm not really understanding what is your issue....is it the color or just that you recieved a gift you didn't register for? If it's just the color than exchange it for white. If it's that you didn't register for it, I would still keep it. Le Creuset makes amazing quality pots and you will have this dish for the rest of your life. It will come in handy one day I'm sure. Enjoy it!

It's just that it's blue. I was super excited when I saw it, it didn't matter that it wasn't off of the registry, it's an amazing gift and I love to cook so they did put allot of thought into it.

I wouldn't mind exchanging it but they got it from a store near their home in Conn. (they accidentaly left the price tag on it) So I'm not sure how BBB or Macys packages them.

Do they come in a box like corningware sets or are they just stand alone where you purchase them off the shelf. If that's the case I could just go and exchange it but if it comes in a box or something I don't think they would let me do it since I don't have the original pkging.

You dont need the orig packaging at BBB... I had a shower radio in college and it broke 3 years in -- I brought it back (used for 3 years, broken, no box) and they gave me the full cash sale price back!

Oh really! I I have the most annoying item I purchased at BBB two years ago. It wasn't even expensive, it just pisses me off. It's this Utensil Holder and it's like all slotted so the freakin' utensils always fall out. I don't know why I thought this was a smart buy.
