Re: Leave NY Behind?

NY really has everything we need, and while it's ASTRONOMICAL prices kill me, I really love it here. So, if money were no object I'd stay here.

We're thinking of moving to MD or VA. I went to college in that area, and really love it. I could transfer within my company so the trick would be finding FH a job.

FH & I dont want to leave PA..

we live in t he middle of NOWHERE & we absolutely loveee it!

My FH and I came from NY (me = Long Island, him = upstate) we rented an apartment in PA in a more populated area than NOWHERE and our families hated it. We loved it and have many friends there now. After 1 year we moved back to Long Island (It would be easier to plan our wedding that we wanted here and my dad gave us a cheap house to rent). If my FH didn't just get a good job on the island I would so move back to PA in a few years... or even upstate by his parents which is very similar to PA atomsphere.

Just a side note: I find it amazing how my comute to NYC for work is exactly the same lenght from where I lived in PA and now from LI!!!

crashing! but I see some of you lovlies on the 09 board so it's ok.

Althought I love NY.... I think it's a terrific place and it's a good part of why I am so well rounded... I can't stand it here anymore. Too expensive and overcrowded. I live in Queens and work in the city. I'm sick and tired of the dirty overcroweded long a$$ commute. I'm sick of how much everything costs here, how there are no parking spots anywhere and how much you pay for an attached house without even a yard! I would love to leave the state and go almost anywheres else just to see what it's like. It would definatly have to be coastal... and I want some seasons... Florida is wayyy too hot for me.
But that's not an option for us (FH job is DSNY).... so we are doing what we consider the next best thing and moving upstate! Rockland county here we come! One day!
