Leaving Home
Maybe you girls can help me out, a few months ago I remember reading something (I'm 90% sure it was on here, not another wedding website) about moms/families getting sad/strange/mad/jealous/resentful that you're leaving and will be living with somebody else. Well maybe not resentful but upset is more like it. The entire holiday season has been stressful bc my mom was getting upset that I stayed for parts of the Thanksgiving and Christmas weekend with my FH's family (he still lives at home in NJ) and she'll start crying at random times bc I'll be leaving home. I am the only child and we're a pretty close family but I don't know if I can take another 9 months of this. My mom keeps on calling it my 'last Thanksgiving', my 'last Christmas', my 'last Birthday'. My Dad just goes with the flow and my Grandma who lives with us is like, 'knock it off, it's not like she's dying'. Does anybody remember that thread or is anybody having a similar situation?
