Legal advice needed....

Is there anyone here that can help steer me in the right direction?

In a nutshell, our neighbor has a problem in her home that is affecting me (we are attached). I have confronted her many times where 1st she said she will have it fixed...after a few months I asked again and she said someone came and fixed it. When I had my own person come in and look at it, she said she was going to get someone else to look at it. She is selling the house now and I think she has a buyer.

What do we do??

I'm not a lawyer or anything, but I would tip off the buyers or their agent about the problem if you have the chance. That way they have an opportunity to make the repair a condition of sale.

Just an idea......

We live in a condo complex and it's pretty usual to have prospective buyers ask us questions about the place or any problems.

If you make yourself 'available' while they are around and get into a conversation with them, I don't see how anyone could sue you over it. But again I'm not a lawyer.

There are also disclosure laws, where the seller has to notify the buyer of problems that fall into specific categories. Maybe someone in real estate could help from that angle???

The potential home buyers were outside the other day - they were having an inspection done and I was DYING to go outside and say something. I guess if it's casually mentioned. I don't want to be a jerk neighbor I just want this thing fixed already!

I am going to try to contact a lawyer and see what we should do. We've taken photographs already.....
