Hello All!!! Hope everyone is doing very well. I have a legal question.
I left my position as an Executive Recruiter for one firm about a month ago. Our website used to have blurbs about each of the recruiters. I wrote up my own. They have then replaced my desk with a new recruiter and have just inserted her name onto my blurb.
I emailed the President of the company and she has yet to respond and has failed to change it. Is there anything I can do legally?
I know it sounds petty but my issue is that I am now with a new firm and we're big competitors. I now have to come up with a whole new blurb for this new website and I really really really spent lots of time on the one I had beforehand.
It is also about principal. It's wrong to do that.
Any help?

Re: Legal Question....
Possible to have your new employer contact your old employer?
I doubt it's a legal case (though I'm sure people have claimed a lot less) I would just keep hounding them until it's changed.

Re: Legal Question....
I would put it in writing certified letter. Make a formal request to have it removed since you are the author. I am not a lawyer, but that's my gut instinct and that's what I would do.

Re: Legal Question....
You mean the new person is claiming to have your background, schools attended, previous jobs, or is the blurb just a write up of your job responsibilities?
I think if it is just a general blurb about the responsibilities of that job, it is actually the intellectual property of that company if you wrote it while on their time. They can do with it as they choose. If it is your personal info., that's another story.

Re: Legal Question....
It is the same format. She did change the school and the degree she is pursuing and her name. THATS ALL!
Here it is...in CAPS is all that is changed.

Re: Legal Question....
If she changed her personal data, I don't think there is anything illegal about them keeping it there. It's like if you make a brochure for one job, then leave--they can continue using that brochure forever because you made it when you worked there.

Re: Legal Question....
Thanks Everyone! I just think it is so wrong for them to do that. Whatever! Not a big deal.
