Lengthy conversations at wedding

Lengthy conversations at wedding

I'm having the same receiving issue problems. The only reason I would do it is to cut short relatives who talk like it’s their job.
I just want to dance and laugh at my wedding not hear about my great Aunts new knee problems.
Anyway that's one of my fears
How can you cute people off at the wedding without seeming rude? Because they're really clueless some of them

That is hysterical! But unfortunately, all too true. Do you have hostesses or a 'day of' person? They can let everyone know that the bridge and groom will meet and greet them at the CH/reception.

the great thing about being the bride is you can just walk away mid sentence and people won't get too upset.

my sister did this at her wedding and i thought it was hysterical.. but she would just be like i have to go grab a drink or let me find DH i'll be right back.. and she wouldn't come back. in her thank yous she just wrote 'wish we could've talked me'

it sounds rude.. but you gotta remember its your day.. and you're supposed to be making your rounds not chatting with one person for 5 hours.

You can designate someone to be your 'help me!' person Have one of your BM's be on the lookout for you, or have a signal, and when someone is babbling about nothing, give her/him the signal to have them bail you out!!!

My problem is that FH has cronic 'I'm talking and I can't shut up!' syndrome! He will spend 4 hours at one table if I let him!

this is my problem hahaha

I figure I'll make the most of it. Since he loves to talk so much, he can do the talking and I'll be out on the dance floor rocking out, or partaking in some adult beverages :D

Are you going to have a bridal attendant? You can let them know that you would like to be pulled away from anyone after 5 minutes of talking for 'business' or designate a BM or friend.

Otherwise, I think that people will not at get offended if you say 'I wish we had more time, I have to go make the rounds/go to the Bathroom/get another drink/see DH/take a few pics/request a song' - or 'let's get together after the wedding to talk more!'

You will be in such a whirlwind, it won't matter.

eta: if you are talking about just on the receiving line there is nothing wtong with just ending the conversation by just looking to the next person and going in for the hug and hello.
