Re: LENT during pregnancy
I'm not a big seafood eater, so it's going to be hard for me getting the protein for the day without meat. But I will also not eat meat today, and every Friday until Easter.

Re: LENT during pregnancy
I won't eat meat on Fridays during lent. But I usually don't eat meat on Fridays anyway for religious reasons.

There really should be an exemption for us!!
When I read this post I almost burst into tears because I realized I can't have the slice of ham I was planning on snacking on when I got home from work!! (Damn pregnancy hormones!! I can cry at the drop of a hat!) I knew it was Ash Wed but then I forgot and started craving meat. Ugh...I don't want FISH tonight

Re: LENT during pregnancy
I think pregnant women are exempt, but I don't know for sure. I ate meat on fridays when I was expecting. I did not eat meat on good friday or Ash Wed. though. That was the decision that I came up with.

Re: LENT during pregnancy
'Those who are excused from fast or abstinence, besides those outside the age limits, those of unsound mind, the sick, the frail, pregnant or nursing women according to need for meat or nourishment, manual laborers according to need, guests at a meal who cannot excuse themselves without giving great offense or causing enmity and other situations of moral or physical impossibility to observe the penitential discipline.'
This is from the Catholic TV website EWTN: http://www.ewtn.com/faith/lent/fast.htm
So, eat up, preggo ladies!
