Leonards .. Great Neck (long - from a recent bride)

We had our reception there last April and could not have been happier. My husband's great-uncle has had several family events there, including both his daughters' sweet 16's and wedding receptions, and a celebration following his second marriage. We ended up having the entire top floor - we booked the double room for our reception and they ended up putting our cocktail hour up there too (the cocktail hour could be in one of a few rooms depending on what else is booked that day) and our bridal suite ended up being the other room upstairs, with a balcony, so we felt like we were the only event there. The food was terrific - we had the smaller 3-entree option - Chicken Francese, Salmon, or Prime Rib I think. We got the upgraded cake option - a chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse inside, and white icing in a basket weave pattern, with flowers. It was everything I dreamed of. You'll get a tasting of all the cocktail hour foods, and although they don't sample the main courses, you should be very happy. Family members are still talking about how great the baked clams, calimari and mussels were at the cocktail hour. Service during the reception was very good. Everything was set up on our tables just as I had specified. They have an ivory lace overlay on the tables which is very pretty. My only frustration was with some of the front office staff. It was sometimes hard to reach our wedding coordinator, and took a few days to get called back (she left there shortly before our wedding) Ian, who handles the menu and catering details as you get closer to the wedding, was very nice an thourough. Follow up on the insurance certificates for the band and photographer - they were faxed over but never made it to my file appearantly. When I called to confirm, the receptionist told me outright, that faxes tend to get lost! Other than that, they were terrific and you can't beat the price compared to some of the other places on the island! Photo tip - the murals in the arches on the walls in some of the recpetion rooms look GREAT as photo backdrops. We didn't know that till we got some photos back and saw how terrific they looked - wish I'd utilized them more for photos - take advantage of them.
