Less than 5 days away and totally bummed...

Less than 5 days away and totally bummed...

I am so upset by things that have been going on lately. I feel like such a fool for assuming that our wedding would be vaguely important to people. SO many have been proving me wrong.

I have had three sets of aunts and uncles RSVP yes and then back out (one just YESTERDAY!), some for understandable reasons, others... not so much. It puts us in a very difficult position in terms of meeting our minimum AND in terms of seating (I don't want a half empty table)!

Now FH's brother might not even be coming!!!

I have a BM who's not coming to the rehearsal (because she didn't request the time off work until last week and was then denied), several who can't tell me whether or not their husband is coming and one who wants ME to figure out her transportation there and back (when she's very close friends with 4 other bridesmaids)!

On top of it all, my mother has been giving me such a hard time about asking my BMs if they wanted my hair & make-up people to work on them, too. She was afraid they wouldn't have the time to devote to me. Almost all of my girls opted out (but they're almost all going to somebody else--the SAME somebody else--without me), so I thought my mother would be happy. Instead, after we had discussed ALL the other nonsense above, she starts yelling at me about the fact that my hair and make-up people are coming too EARLY...

I feel like I just can't win and I just want all this to be over.

Oh boy! The easy one to discuss is your mom.... she's stressed too, but she's blowing off steam to the wrong person. Have you told her you're already being stretched to the max and she's just adding to it? She's supposed to be HELPING you; not adding to the pandemonium. I suggest letting her handle the seating, if possible. Just give her something to do...

Your BMs: what reason are they giving for going to someone different for makeup? One of my BMs pulled the same (stuff) about getting her to and from hotel, church, CH, and hotel - when 5 close family members will have a car. She was also to be in the wedding party and dropped out. Some people just can't handle the responsibility for all different reasons.

One of my FHs sibs may be backing out too. Weddings just bring out the weirdness and selfishness in people. I try not to take it personally. Some people are just wrapped up in their own lives and have difficulty seeing past that. However, when its their turn to host a wedding and I've got something else going on, I won't feel so bad about turning down the invite (on time, of course). Not that I'm spiteful, or anything....

You will be marrying your love in 4 days. Nothing is going to get in the way of that. It will all be okay. Hugs.

Aww... I know the feeling!!! I felt completey let down because i too expected some of my family to come especially after I gave them two years notice!! I had had a few cousins say yes till the night before of the wedding! Very sad but the next day I was over it! In fact, the worse part are those who didn't show up at the wedding at all like a few co workers and those who said they were coming with guests and they just came a lone!!! I had at least ten open seats!!! Things will happen unfortunately! If I could do it over again, I would focus on myself and not others! I was so cought up on my bridesmaids and everyone else I was making myself upset! Enjoy your day because it only comes once!! Honestly, if you worry about everything it will transpire through your photos! Take a deep breath and enjoy your last week! Your wedding will still go on regardless!

I agree with Bride2013 to enjoy our day since it only comes once and not to worry about everything. Planning a wedding has been stressful, but it is the family that is making it more stressful. Whatever happens, happens. I can't wait for it to be over. I feel like something is definitely going to go wrong or something is going to happen that I am not going to like. In my case, I have had my future mother in law say that she is not coming to the wedding. She was just mad at something and was taking it out on us. Thankfully she finally got her dress and is coming to the wedding. I feel like weddings always bring on the drama big time.

Awwww try to stay calm. Breathe. In four days you're going to have the best day of your life! Don't let anyone tell you different.
