Lesser known reception halls

Lesser known reception halls

Has anyone been to a wedding at or discovered a reception hall that is not commonly mentioned or is fairly unknown?...

In my research, I have come across a few.. so I thought I should share. One of these places might be exactly what someone out there may be looking for...

Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club a castle in Manhasset

Tall Grass Country Club
On a a golfcourse in Shoreham. Lessings site I believe.

Dreamer's Cove Inn
in Aquebogue. Looks like a nice place for a small, beachfront, outdoor wedding.

The Hedges Inn Nice historic landmark in East Hampton.

This is so nice of you to put together! I'm sure it could be a great resource for people just starting out in their search!

I'm getting married at Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack. It's not well known on here, but I think it's beautiful. One wedding at a time and the BM bends over backwards for you. They threw in tons of things at the menu meeting (after they had let us drop our minimum) and really worked with us to customize the menu both seasonally and to our guests' tastes. The menu on their website is barely even a jumping off point. I can not say enough good things about them. If anyone has any questions please FM me and I'd be happy to share more information. I couldn't be more thrilled with them.

I was adamant about having my wedding at a private country club - and since most of the time you need to be a member or have a sponsor, they are definitely less common venues.

In my search, I came across a few that are open to non members:

Pine Hollow Country Club (my venue <3)
Fresh Meadow CC
Seawane CC
Cold Spring CC
Muttontown CC

I'm pretty sure Tall Grass closed. I think I remember a bride who was booked there having to switch her hall.

Whenever I tell people where we are getting married... they just look at me!! Hardly anyone has ever heard of it before. Sometiems I like it and sometimes I don't.
But I still am in love with my reception location. The Royalton!!!

Its the same with Giorgio's....So many people have never heard of it before.... but the good thing is that those that have only have great things to say about it...

the rotunda in brooklyn (in kingsborough community college -- ON THE BEACH)

that was my first choice.... but that was also before we looked at any halls...

I would probably be a raving lunatic if I had to take care of every single detail myself...

Hi there!

Tall Grass Country Club closed, but Lessing's Smithtown Landing Country Club has GREAT prices and their coordinators are amazing! Check out some of the recent reviews of theirs on Brides Review Chat Forum. I'm getting married there in a couple months!

FM if you have any questions. Or if you call Smithtown Landing - Donna and Rich are AMAZING and will help answer any of your quetions/concerns.

HTH!

Flowerfield!

It's very secluded and there is very very minimal advertising.

also if you are looking into private clubs try yacht clubs.....there are a ton ont he north shore. I know Northport will let non members have events there but I think Centerport you have to be a member.
