Lessings Caterers

Has anyone had Lessings Caterers food? I have heard bad things about the food but I want to get married at one of the locations they cater at.

my friend got married at Smithtown Landing and it was beautiful... food was ok...

I personally have never liked Lessings food, but I found out that each one of their locations has a different head chef responsible for it. One of the Lessing brothers himself does the Bourne.

The way to find out however, is to ask for a tasting and decide for yourself if you like it.

I've eaten at The Riverview, West Sayville CC, and Timberpoint and I really enjoyed the food at all.

I didn't eat that much at my wedding, but I thought what I did manage to eat was good. It may just be a rumor that I heard, but I heard that Lessing's is not doing weddings at the Bourne in '07.

I also had my rehearsal dinner at the Riverview which is one of their restaurants and I thought the food was good as well.

I've heard nothing but great things about Bourne, but I had my sweet 16 at Smithtown Landing, and FH's sister was married there a couple years ago...the food was not the greatest. In fact, FSIL got some money back after the wedding because the family was so disappointed in the food. Hopefully the Chef has changed since then.

We went to a wedding at Timberpoint and the food was pretty good, I just found that there wasn't alot of food offered...However, that could've been the package that the bride and groom chose.

i got married at the Bourne - i actually ate a lot - i was starving when i got there - we had a seafood diplay and the lobster and crab were delicious

the dinners were raeally good too - there was tons of food around

there are different levels to lessigns i have realized - and they seem to spearate the mansion a bit -but they threw a great wedding for us

i just love the ballroom
