I'm going with my BMs this month to check out dresses, specifically Jordan Fashions bridesmaid dresses b/c they are having a trunk show, and I just wanted some feedback, if anyone has any. Thanks in advance

Re: Lestan Fashion Headquarters in Brooklyn
I got my BM dresses from Lestans, and I did not have a good experience there at all. I think I've permanently blocked some of it from my mind!!
1. It took MONTHS for me to get material swatches from them.
2. One of my bridesmaids wanted to go for a fitting when she was in from VA...they told her she needed her shoes so her dress could be hemmed and wouldn't let her come in for a fitting. When she was in next time, with her shoes, they wouldn't do the hem!!
3. Another BM needed to go back FIVE times for alterations b/c they kept screwing up...
4. After two fittings, my SIL got so frustrated with them, she took her dress for private fittings.
I know there was more, but I can't recall all of it...if you do a search for Lestan's you will find many posts with unhappy experiences, as well as some positive ones.

Re: Lestan Fashion Headquarters in Brooklyn
I would never recommend them!!!!!!!!
JMO!!!!
My friend had a hard time with her wedding dress there.............they forgot to order it twice!!!! AND her mom had to pay an extra $100- to have it rushed which they NEVER returned to her! Also the BM dresses came in two weeks before the wedding - NOT KIDDING
For one friend's wedding she insisted on getting our BM dresses there b/c they were cheaper and they destroyed some of our dresses!! How you ask?!?! Mine was cut too short and lopsided!!!! AND it could not be fixed........I can go on about this but can't be bothered getting worked up over it!
Everyone I know that has gone there has had a bad experience......sorry........I am sure some brides have had good experiences but these were mine.
Why don't you make an appointment with Valentina Bridal? You do not pay for alterations and I think you get $10 off each dress depending on how many you order.........not 100% sure about this - but I've heard good reviews and always had a good experience there for past weddings where I was part of bridal party.......
I think NYLisa went there for BM and her dress......check out her review
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
Edited to say just read JAX's post and it is all true!! THEY refuse to let you go for alterations without shoes and undergarments....can't even JUST try it on......
I am recalling so many things....they screwed up a friends dress and ordered it 5 sizes TOO SMALL and they were blaming her saying she asked for it that small....luckily she had her receipt and it only said to order a SIZE smaller because she was losing weight....They originally wanted to order her a size 16 which she refused because she was losing weight and asked for a 12.......instead they ordered her a 6/7!!!! The BEST part is first they were trying to convince her that she GAINED WEIGHT because the dress was a size 12 - well low and behold I simply looked at the tag hanging out while she was wearing the dress and it said 6/7!!!! Then the manager said she must have asked for it to be that size!!!!
Listen, you do what you like but I am warning you that they are nice at first until they have your money!!!! I warned all my friends about the place and some still went ahead and ordered and at the end of each experience I had my 'I told you so' face!!!
Search for more reviews before you make a FINAL decision of where to order!!! PLEASE!!!

Re: Lestan Fashion Headquarters in Brooklyn
I actually had pretty good experiences there. Of course they were very helpful in getting me to purchase a gown, and they were pretty helpful at the fittings. The seamstress Josephine was really nice and I loved how my dress fit.

I've heard bad things on this site about them, but my mother has used them in the past for evening dresses and has had a good experience. I know this is not the same as a wedding though...

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Weddings are stressful enough without the added headache of a place like Lestan.
I'm going to bump a thread about Lestan for you.

Re: Lestan Fashion Headquarters in Brooklyn
You should really listen to all of this advice about Lestans.
I did not listen to the numerous warnings about Lestan's Bridal in Brooklyn and on Saturday I got what I deserved for not listening to all of the posted about their lack luster service.
I called Lestans on Friday about a long line bra I want to buy called Flattering Me. Macys does not have it in Black nor did they have my size. Lestans is listed as a retailer so I called yesterday to see if they have my color/size. The woman who answered did not want to go check to see if they have my color/size. This was after I told her I already made a useless trip to Macys. She said she would have to go all the way to her stock room and search for it. She then put me on hold for what was not enough time to go check anything. She then came back to the phone and said she had it. I asked again, are you sure you have black. She said yes.
So, I go there Saturday and they don't have black at all. Black is a special order. I know that not because anyone at Lestans was actually helpful but because I called Bridal Reflections at Carle Place and asked if they have black in stock. They don't and neither does any other place I checked since black is special order.
I'm soooo annoyed with Lestans. They are the only place in town that has a sample of a dress I like too - but there is no way I'm ordering anything from them.
I can see why brides don't feel too comfortable using them. The bra mishap makes me wonder about them. Not to mention, another bride posted that when she was a BM they gave the bride her dress w/o the veil she ordered. Lestans then gave the bride (after a fight I'm sure) some other brides veil I'm sure the second bride was thrilled to hear that Lestans screw up cost them her veil.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they RAISED the price of the dress I like too. The first day I tried it two staff members tried to convince me that the price was marked wrong and I should order it right away. They tried to convince me that the dress should cost at least double what was marked. This is a total LIE. I can order the dress from several other places (that do not have samples) and it's the same price as at Lestan's that day.
I tried it again about a week later and they did raise the price. I had no plans to buy from them but that is just one more taste of the frustration they can cause. And I am not even a Lestan's bride.
And the nail in the coffin.............. Since I was there I was going to try on the dress I like again but was told 'no' unless I was prepared to leave a deposit. I'm not sure if this was a joke or not. It was busy so I waited for a bit since I had driven all the way out there for nothing.
After about 10 minutes I siad I was not going to try it again since I was not prepared to leave a deposit. There was no indication that the deposit part was a joke so I guess you can only try a dress on during another visit if you plan to place the order that day?
