Lestan's good experience

Lestan's good experience

I tried on a dress today at Lestan's since RK bridal nor Macy's had the dress. RK said it would not be in until late February. So, I took a chance and went to Lestan's despite some of the bad reviews.

I had a good experience (except it was really cold in the dressing room).

Just thought I'd share.

I tried on a few dresses there and had a great experience also. I ultimately decided on a dress at Davids Bridal - but I have no complaints about Lestan - I thought they were great!

Yeah!!!! I tried on the Capri with the sweetheart neckline. I was the first to ever try it on too. They just got it in. RK nor Macys NYC had it yet.

Re: Lestan's good experience

I truly think we all have different experiences due to various factors: day of the week, time of day, salesperson, our own personalities...

I really disliked the salespeople the two times I went to Lestan's. I thought the dressing rooms were absolutely terrible. I'm rather petite and there was no room in there. There were pins on the floor and the saleswoman told me to keep my boots on so I wouldn't get stuck.

I went there to try on knowing I'd never purchase from them b/c my future sister-in-law had a terrible experience there 3 months ago. When she arrived to pick up her dress, they couldn't find it. After 45 minutes, they located it. She asked where her veil was and the woman said, 'You have a veil?' After pointing out that she'd ordered a veil, the search began. She sat there for 2 hours while they leisurely looked for the veil. Finally fed up, she insisted that the manager speak with her. The manager then instructed one of the saleswomen to take someone else's veil (lucky for her someone else ordered the same veil). She left with this other person's veil. All I could think of was how terrible it was that a) they took someone else's veil b) the manager told a salesperson to take another bride's veil right in front of customers c) the fact that she had to sit there for nearly 3 hours.

I'm glad you had a good experience, but I, personally, don't trust them. Then again, I suppose mix-ups can happen anywhere.

What was my point?

Wow, that's awful. I feel sorry for the bride that came in looking for her veil.

Terri was very nice to me today and helpful. However, based on what I saw re: organization and the sales people helping other brides, I can see how the experience would be negative depending on who you end up using at Lestan's.

I was put off at first after reading a lot of horrible reviews on this site. I also went in expecting to be treated like crap. LOL I got there and nobody upstairs was helpful but I did approach the counter and asked where I could find bridal gowns. I was told to go downstairs and someone would help me.

Once I got down there, Terri approached me and got the dress I wanted to try. There was no sales pressure at all. In fact, I commented to FI that she did not even ask me my name. Most salons take down all your info and wedding date. All Terri asked was for our date.

Although I did like the dress, I would not buy from Lestan's. I'll probably buy from Bridal Reflection or on-line.

I went to Lestan's and had an OK experience. I saw Pat and Terri...Pat was the salesperson and I think Terry is the manager. I loved Terri, she was so nice, Pat was trying too hard to sell me the dress. I didn't like the ambiance at all. I went to Bridal Reflectons in Massapequa and I loved the ambiance but the salesgirl was so unknowledgable and as slow as a snail. I would never order from them. You will always hear good and bad experiences about every place, you just have to go on your experience......and hope for the best, lol

I went to Lestans looking for a dress, tried on few and found the one I want. I didnt care for the saleslady too much but it wasnt her fault, i came in at the end of the day, and I was really focusing on the dress. I left without buying it.

Then I came back with my FH, to ask his oppinion on the dress and he loved it. The owner helped us out this time and was very nice. We ended up ordering that dress.

I called in recently and asked for the owner and surprisingly she remembered me right away. She looked up my order and told me awesome news that it will be ready Mid-February..YEY!!

That place needs a makeover!!

Yup--that place definitely needs a makeover--when my cousin got married--we didnt have any issues that I can think of--but I do agree that it all depends on the person and time of day--anywhere!!!

Did you bring a picture of the Yearick dress there? I know you said when you called they said they didn't have it, but they were only able to find my dress because I had a picture.

Just make sure you get a price quote from Lestans if you decide not to get the dress from there. It may give you some negoiating power!

Is that a bridal illusion veil in the picture? I like the way that falls.
