I brought my dress from there, but I haven't started fittings yet. I let you know my experience.

Stephanie, my Brooklyn sister....

I would not recommend that place to my worst enemy. I've posted numerous times about their utter lack of customer service. I only found 2 people to be somewhat helpful there, everyone else was either clueless or downright rude.

They have a great selection, but that's probably the only good thing I can say about them.

I know there is a bridal salon on Sheepshead Bay Rd, I can't remember the name, and there's another on Ave U somewhere in the teens. Otherwise, you can check Valentina's in Bay Ridge.

TRUST ME I do not want to see anyone deal with the problems I had there. Not worth the stress at all.

Edited to add: Amanda (ImYurFavGirl) is also getting her gown from them and is not wowed with her experience either.

Thanks Janna...i know you had a bad experience...Some of my friends have used them in the past few years and it is 50/50 in the area of satisfaction. In the end their dresses looked great, but they had some stress during the prewedding time period. I went today to look and I was helped by a wonderful women and found two dresses that I liked. They are very popular names so I know I can go someplace else..just figured I would see if any others had the same as you.

thanks

I think there are a few girls on here that are dealing with them. You might want to ask enjft, I think she lives near there and knows a few people that dealt with them.

I went there during my gown search. I was satisfied with the service I received, everyone seemed to be ok.

Come to think of it; I made an appt ahead of time but when I got there I had to wait about 10-15 minutes before someone could help me. Other than that my experience was ok. I ended up ordering my dress from Valentina.

Re: Lestan's in Brooklyn...Rants/Raves please!!!

MrsT, reading your review reminded me of when I actually went back there to search for BM dresses. I had an appointment, and yet we were there looking for an hour before someone came up to help us!! Finally after having the girls try on gowns, one of the salespeople said to me 'oh you need help'!! Oh really? Ya think? I told them I had an appointment, and if this was the type of service I was going to get WITH an appointment, I'd hate to see the service without!!

Oh yeah, and about the trying on without the deposit thing, when I had on my gown and I was talking with my mother and said I didn't have the money for the deposit, the saleswoman walked away from me and didn't help me after that!! (A deposit was placed by my parents, which means this biatch got her commission anyway that she seriously did not deserve!!)

Re: Lestan's in Brooklyn...Rants/Raves please!!!

I used them for my gown. Ettie helped me find it, Terri helped at the fittings and Josephine did my alterations. As much as I didn't want to go there being I lived near there at the time and always thought it was so dirty, I did have a good experience. The dress cost the same as at most places and the alterations were included.
The only negative was that they didn't call when the dress was in. Good Luck in your search.

UGGH those people really p*ssed me off. I was having a hell of a time finding my dress in ivory and red. Everyone had the gold but no red so I called them, I live in Nassau and it was totally out of the way. They told me they had it but I could only come in at 5pm. Hello, I have a job. But I wanted to try on that dress.

So I make my mom and two sisters take the train to queens to meet me at work at 430 so we could make it there by 5. Well I waited 20 minutes for help and then another 25 minutes while they located the dress. Then they tell me they don't have it. Then a woman comes from the back with a mouth full of food and says what dress? I say the Alfred Angelo with the red back, she goes 'I told you ladies to stop telling people we have that when we haven't been able to find it for 3 months!'

They knew they didn't have it, knew how far I was traveling, knew I left work early and knew I was pissed when I left.

I really didn't care for them. Getting there was a pain in the a$$ and I wasn't to thrilled with the area. The day after I went there, I went to RK Bridal. I ended up buying my dress at RK for less money along with my BM dresses. I think the only positive experience I had at Lestan's was I originally found my dress and they had the size I needed. When I tried the dress on at RK it was a smaller size and very uncomfortable. Before I went to Lestan's a few of my friends told me of there good/bad experiences.
