let the invitation drama begin!
so my family drives me insane! lol
I really don't get a long with my mother's family. They have been awful to me for ever and I have always been compared to my cousin. Lets call her Jo.
Anyway, it has felt like we have been in competition since we were little girls. It was rubbed in my face how everything she did was better (altho I didnt always necessarily think so) but my mom made it worse by competing too. I didnt really care. I got over the whole competition thing really quick! Jo and I went to college together and we became really close. She graduated a year after me and I graduated with two bachelors in 4 years which is why we drifted. I started working super hard and she was more into partying. I just had three jobs and school. Anyway, when we finally graduated, I invited her to my graduation party which she did not attend and when she graduated, (a year later) I called her to say congratulations and she was like 'oh yea cuz i heard you graduated too congrats' that comment was weird since i thought she knew i had graduated and i had even invited her to my party. anyway, fast forward, she got married last year and was not invited to her wedding. I didnt even know she got married!! I found out when we had to attend a funeral. She was very off putting and didnt really pay me any mind. I felt awful like what did I ever do to her? anyway, i felt mostly bad because iw as there when she met her now husband and i used to hang out with them in college. Okay, so now im getting married and I didn't invite her because she has ignored me all this time and her family is just not the nicest. So my aunt called my mother and was like why didnt you invite jo and her family. I couldnt believe that she would call and ask. When this particular aunt is the one with all the poison that has always said mean things. When she got my invitations (because my mother thought she'd hand deliver them since she was going to visit her), she opend them, made a face and was like, oh how nice, Jo's were different. and she asked my mom where fh and i were going on our hm and she said disney world and aunt was like oh jo went to Greece. She always has something to say! im just over the whole damn thing and its pissing me off that i hav eto play nice!!!!!!!
also, my aunt called the other day ( a different aunt) and left a distant cousin's address on the voicemail for me to invite...i was like 'really'????
am i wrong to feel frustrated?
I didn't invite a lot my college friends to fit in family members i seriously cannot tolerate! i wanna cry now! lol sorry vent over!
