LET THEM EAT CAKE.....

OK- question ladies....should I serve my guests the wedding cake at the reception or should i pack it up and let them take it home....we are having a full Vienese and there's sooo much stuff there I don't want people to pass on our cake....opinions??

We're doing the full Vienesse hour too and I've been warning people not to eat a few days before the wedding just because there is so much food. They need to have the cake there!

the older people usually eat the wedding cake b/c it's good luck! serve it at the VH...

you gotta give them the cake, this is what everyone will be expecting, and although you will have the vienese hour, they will still go home saying ' I never had a slice of the wedding cake'

The wedding we went to last weekend had a great idea, I think.

She put empty boxes (nice to go boxes u can get on any of these bridal websites) with a sticker of thier monogram on them. People could use the boxes to bring home thier cake or other goodies from the viennese hour.

I heard this too and I always eat even just a bite..LOL

I would serve it at the VH.

We were debating on whether or not to just put it up on the vienesse table or to put it ou on the tables. I told FH we should put it on the tables b/c otherwise people wont take it.

Its up to you though- its your wedding.

Our hall gave us the option of including it in the viennese display. So we will have the whole cutting of the cake and what not but instead of it being served to each guest they have the option of either taking a slice or not from the viennese display!

No this is what I meant....either serve it to everyone at the reception at the table or have it wrapped up in a 'To Go' kinda box and take it home.....but i do like the idea of them taking stuff from the vienese too....I might just dothat....THANKS!!!

OK just to clarify- WE ARE DEFINATELY SERVING THE CAKE.....

We jsut don't know if we should send it home with the guests or just have the hall plate it and serve it to everyone....the vienese is totally seperate...everyone will get cake at their setting....my question is should it be in a box or on a plate....

lol that's my vote too!!!!! But seriously I don't ever eat wedding cakes so I wouldn't want to take it home so I think serving it at the reception would be best.
