Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

Back In Elementary school, which kid were you?
What about Junior High and High School ?

Elementary:
My sister and I were always at the front of the lines (shorties ). We were always being told SSSHHHHH !!!

Junior High:
Alot of the 'best friend' clicks. I was always the one to make sure everyone got along. Who wasnt talking to who and why not? I was the one everyone vented to Oh, the silly fights!
I was Pres of a Student ORganization we called 'Teen Year 88' (HOW DORKY !!! ) My 'best friend' and I (Pres and VP) were 2 big mouths

High School:
I was always, throughout elementary and junior high as well, always the one that would WANT to sit in the front of the class. I would volunteer to do things first, like presentations. In high school, I was too busy thinking about cutting class, so I sat in the back alot and socialized too much...

Anyone remember anything good about back in the days ??????? share share ?? 'Who were you?'

In Elementary School, I was always the 'new' kid b/c we moved every few years. I was a total gossip and got in with the gossipy girls.

In High School I was the good girl (to the teachers) with the boozing night life. I got mostly A's, did lots of extra cirricular stuff, was on scholarship, etc.. by day. But had a shaky homelife and spent way too many nights in bar when I was way, way, way underage.

My friends still joke about how we could go out all night for $20 back then including car service, door cost, all the drinks we could consume and even pizza afterward. Of course, that costs way more than $20 but someone was paying for it and it wasnt us. Now we cant even go to lunch without spending $40!!

Elementary:
tallest so always at the back of the line!

JH, started my basketball love & played alot & hung out with the BB team.
We were the popular ones.

HS-I was Miss popular, cut classes in the 1st semester of Freshman year, etc.
Then became good

Became MVP in basketball 3 yrs in a row till I got a bad knee injury & had to stop.

Elementary school: the new girl (I went to 4 different schools)

Junior High School: the nerd (I was in the smart class, so sue me!)

Highschool: the party girl who never went to class (had to shed that nerdy image, silly me, probably should have kept it, but it wouldn't have been much fun!)

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

Elementary School: I was the teacher's pet. The girl whose mom dressed her in pretty dresses and put her hair in two long braids with bows on the ends. The girl the boys would call princess

Junior High: I was the girl who was still teacher's pet...in the music and English dept. I was also the girl who was exploring different styles. One day I was dressed all in black with pale face makeup and crystal around my neck, the next day I was all decked out in preppy plaid skirt, Oxford cloth shirt and penny loafers. Like I said, I was confused.

High School: I was a preppy. The wardrobe spoke for itself.

Elementary: the shortest-so always in the front. I loved being in the front. VERY shy and quiet

Jr High-I was a nerd, glasses and all. More out going

High school-still smart I just started rebelling and getting myself into teenage trouble. My parents thought the world came to an end the way I was acting. Little did they know I was an angel, compared to what my friends were getting themselves into. They couldn't complain too much since I maintained really good grades.

LOL cute stories, this is fun !

My class was also called 'the nerds' because we skipped a grade (8th-10th), ahh they were just jealous
My sister and I always played tricks on the teachers, so they always 'watched out' for the twins when they had us in their classes, because they knew we were always up to something.

Does anyone have friends from way back when?

I still keep in touch with several girls that I know since kindergarten, some since the 4th grade or so..those friendships are really special. especially when a bunch of us see eachother at a wedding...God how many years have passed..

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

One of my bms I went to elementary school. 2 weeks can go by that we don't speak and when we do its like old times.

All my jr school friends I lost touch. I am better off without them from what I have heard what became of their lives. I keep in touch with 3 hs friends. I go out with 2 on a regular basis. One is a BM and the other is my Matron,

Its so funny how I am looking back at my life and I am thinking I did that??

Good post Anna.

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

Oh geez...this is like Horror Lane for me.
I grew up in a small community and all 3 of my sisters/brothers were valedictorian and I wasn't.

elementary school: I was 5'7' by the time I left 5th grade. I was tall, skinny, quiet with braces, thick glasses and boobs.

jr. high: this is my most painful time. Very tall, skinny, large boobs, glasses, braces, stringy hair parted down the middle. I've always been musically inclined (my BA is in performance) so I was quiet and artistic.

High school: This didn't really change much since jr high except I cut my hair, lost the glasses and braces. I hung out with either older or younger kids...never the kids in my class.

I got picked on a lot because I came from such a dorky family! It was a bad time all around!

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

I still have a few friends from childhood. One friend I have known since nursery school. We met when we were 4 then we went to different elementary schools and met up again in jr. high. She is hilarious. I love her and she will be one of my honor attendants. My other honor attendant will be a friend since Kindergarten who lives down the block from me and was my freshman roommate in college.

I also have two friends who I have known since childhood even though we went to different schools. Our parents are still in touch, so I see them even though they moved out of state

Always quiet and sensitive.....very shy in grammer school, less shy in HS and not shy in college. I always was friends with the geeks and the popular kids....always in between.

Had my fair share of being bullied. I hate bullies !

ETS: I agree with LeeLee. Most of grammer and HS memories for me are pretty painful. I always felt like a dork!

I was the tallest one in elementary school. I was just the average person. Not the losr type, nor the most popular

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

All my life: The Yapper. Yap yap yap yap yap yap. I never shut up and it is still hard for me to keep quiet.

I was always who teachers were referring to when they would say 'Girls, do I need to separate you?' I also got tossed out of class a few times for being a smart a$$ to the teacher.

My report card always had A's in the schoolwork and C's in conduct with comments like 'Rachel is a high-spirited child who needs to channel as much energy into not talking during class as she does into her reading assignments.'

In high school I was well-known because I was the sports anchor on a closed circuit television station that my school ran. I was also really tall!

Re: Lets Take a Walk Down Memory Lane...

Rachel ..... I would have been in trouble with you in school!!

I was the smart one who wouldn't stop talking. (and apparently have passed this trait on to my unborn child who could be seen during yesterday's u/s moving his/her mouth nonstop! ) On my report card I always got that same comment .... 'she'd do so much better if she'd stop talking!' However, I was the Salutatorian! Go figure!

These things don't ever change! Right Rach?!

In HS .. I transferred in my Junior year, so it was hard to make any strong ties, but I definitely socialized more & cruized by on doing the minimum.

In College ... I really got moving & partied my **S off. This continued well into my 20's ... good thing. I always felt like I was glad I'd lived my life & did EVERYTHING I wanted to do before settling down. I never wanted to have any regrets about missing out.

Now I'm the preggie who goes out with my gf's (thankfully, no smoking in bars allow me to get out & socialize) ... My LIW girls can attest to this! I can't stay out until dawn anymore, but I try not to be a couch potato, either!
