Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
I bet you can save a lot on the veil if you go directly to the women who make the veils for the salons, that what my SIL did, or maybe get it at Barrons.... $119 for a sat night is a great price!

Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
seems right...you are spending more on your dress than I did and I have a DJ and not a band so that I can't judge as well...but everything else seems right.

imo you are paying waaay too much for a dj, but other than that everything seems on target

Actually, for what she's getting (it's a band with a DJ and extras), the price sounds pretty good!

Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
Everything sounds on target to me, just remember, there are alot of little things that are going to start popping up. If I were you, I would start putting some money aside for these extras. I'm going through that now, I feel like everywhere I turn I'm slapping down the cc for something else. We didn't anticipate all these extra costs....

Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
I don't think these prices are bad. I am paying about hte same price for my veil through Macy's, maybe a bit less b/c mine is not cathedral. And, my dress is not as expensive as yours but mine is a different manufacturer too.
As far as the band, I am not sure if I ever heard them but that seems like a great price for that.
I can't tell you anything about the Bourne Mansion b/c I did not look there. Sorry.

Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
my $.02 is this:
it all depends on your final budget [PERIOD].
you can't judge your wedding by what other people are doing. some girls have 'connection' (where they can get a deal on something) and that might allow them to spend more in another area. some girls are diy-ing the things they WANT but can't justify the expense.
i know it's not a 'straight' answer, but every wedding/couple is different and their resources are different.

Re: lets talk about the pink elephant in the room
i don't think there are 'real' prices. i paid a lot less per person, but i had mine at a different hall. i paid less for music, but i had a dj. my dres was less, but it was not an eve of milady. not putting you down, just letting you know that there is no average for weddings. do what you want and what makes you happy.
