Let's talk CAKE

I'm sure this has already been posted, but usually it's just the pics we see. What kinds of cakes are you ladies having (or had)?

I just got back from picking mine out...

4 tier (2 bottom tiers stacked, other 2 separated)
cannoli and strawberry filling
yellow cake
buttercream with a thin layer of white ganache for a smooth look (I didn't want fondant)
gum paste flowers cascading down in bold summer colors.

No pics til the wedding though...

What flavor fillings and frosting are you all having?

Im picking mine out tomorrow but, Im hoping for this With 2 different flavors. Yellow cake/canolli filling and chocolate cake with strawberry filling.
If I cant get the 1st pic then I want the 2nd one but with alternating orange ribbon. Buttercream all the way.

We had red velvetcake with cream cheese filling and whipped cream frosting...it was TO DIE FOR!! Totally recommend it especially if campbells is your bakery!

We're going to have red velvet, pound cake with raspberry chocolate ganache, and chocolate cake with white chocolate cream cheese frosting. A big spider web is going to cascade down the cake and we're going to have crystal spider brooches going down the web. Veeeeeeeeeeeery different than all of your cakes, I am sure!

Ooh well in that case save me one of each!

I'm having 4 tiers, alternating layers of chocolate with a raspberry filling, and yellow cake with chocolate pudding filling. White buttercream with alternating layers of pale pink swiss dots and swirls. Can't wait to eat it

Cakes by Jay, and the cakes are amazingly delicious!

i am just using a regular cake from CHCC... it was at least 500 to pick a diff cake then what they supply. i felt like i should save the money

I'm having 4 tiers with cannoli filling and white cake with all ivory fondant and dark orange roses on the top tier.

I still cant decide between the two. But I am going tomorrow to decide on the flavors and order it.

Yellow cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry filling.
Buttercream Icing. Gumpaste flowers, fondant ribbons.


My cake will be a somewhat modified version of this one.
