Where did you get the actual 'basket'? What are you putting inside and where are you getting the stuff from?

i am not going to use actual baskets...i am going to get plain gift bags from michaels...i may decorate them myself.
i am going to put water, pretzels, maybe some candy, a little note about things to do in the area, and i think my mom and i are going to make home made cookies to put inside.

we were going to get baskets from michaels but we needed a lot of them so we opted for bags instead... we got white bags and I punched 2 holes on the top and tied through a black & white ribbon. Then on the top corner I put heart stickers... all from Michels... inside we will put water, snacks, tylenol (for the following morning) , a little write up about the hotel and what it offers... I figured I would go to BJ's or someplace like that and just stock up on snacky foods and candy

I am also doing bags from Michaels - I decorated them myself with silver sparkle (also from Michaels - the kind you use to write on T-shirts, etc.). I'm writing a 'newsletter' just letting them know different activites they could do, what is close, taxi numbers, etc. I am also putting in water, gum, a NYC postcard (20 for $1 on Lexington and 2nd ave if you're in the city) and maybe some travel size soap/shampoo?? have not decided on that part yet.

I put tons of food/candy/water and a welcome letter in mine...
but the one thing that people loved and commented on the most was the tylenol packets I put in there - the next day a lot of people needed them!

i love getting a scented candle in OOT gift baskets-hotel rooms always smell a little like funk, and it helps to make the room feel cozy. Just a thought!

I put:
Water (2 mini ones) Advil Chocolates Chips/Pretzels Cookies Matches Peanuts Directions to Church & Reception (just in case they left them at home) Gum THings to do/local eateries
I used plain white bags, hole punched near the handles and put a light green ribbon. I also printed out a large label with a letter that I stuck to the front. It said something like this:
Welcome to Long Island!
We are so excited that you could join us at this very special time in our lives. We hope you have a pleasant stay...See you at the wedding!

We made about 17 baskets for less than $200. My mom and I bought all our stuff at Cosco. We made most of the packages out of round wire bread baskets and wrapped them up in cellaphane tied with a bow. We made a few using real baskets (from Michael's) for special people like DH's parents and godparents. We put
2 bottles of water 1 packet of Fruit snacks 1 apple 1 orange 1 pack of gum 1 packet of trail mix 2 Kellogg's Nutri-grain breakfast bars 1 packet of oreos, ritz or cheez its 1 baggie full of candy 1 individually wrapped coffee cake A guide of things to do and see on LI (Got these from Uniondale Marriott)
I got actual baskets from Walmart. THey have some great autumn baskets...one is shpped like a pumpkin! I am putting snacks and little autumnal things...like apple spice tea, pumpkin spice room fragrance, cookies, mabye some toys for the kids and a scented candle (autumn spice). ...since my wedding is Autumn THemed.

We used gift bags from papermart.com (we used the 'high gloss euro rope handle' bags) and stuffed them with:
1 small bag chex mix 2 nutragrain bars 2 packs tic-tacs 2 packs peanut-butter/cheese crackers 2 'fun size' snickers bars 2 12oz. Poland Springs bottles NYC Visitor's Guidebook fold-out subway map printed welcome note with wedding logistics, event schedule, contact numbers, etc. (rolled and tied with ribbon)
