What 'special' tables are you having set up at the reception and what are you putting on them?
Gift Table? Cake Table? Placecard Table? Guestbook Table?

Our 'sweet heart table' will be decorated pretty
Our guest book table, we're going to put silly pictures of each of us on it
Our cake table, I've gotten some really cute things to put on there
I think that's it though

gift table masques/ place cards goody bags guest book bread,salt,wine,silver table ( polish ceremony)

i have to do tables too
You don't have to but it depends on what you are having.
You definitely need a placecard table. But at Ariana, it is downstairs in the lobby and very pretty. Their cake table is right in front of the sweetheart table and they make that pretty as well.
But if you're having a Guestbook....you need somewhere to put it. And if you're having a bird cage or card box....you need somewhere to put it as well.

i think if i leave it on a table - some may forget - especially with an open bar

Hmmmm I never thought of this.
The place cards go on a table in the lobby but I need the sweetheart table, a cake table, a table for my card box/gifts and one for my chocolate fountain.

Yes, lets us discuss tables!!
I will have the cake table at the left of the sweetheart table and the card box on the right. On the cake table, depending on the pattern we choose, it will be decorated with fall leaves or different colored rose petals along with our cake topper. The card box table will be decorated with ivory rose petals. The placecard table will be outside in the lobby and I havent decided yet on candy apples or small pumkins. It will also be adorned with fall leaves. At the end of the night we will have a long buffet table set up for the 'favors' consisting of breakfast goodies for the morning after. Whew!! That's a lot of tables!!
