So, I've got the dress, I *think* I've got the shoes, I'm working on the jewelry. What about undergarments? I don't really want to wear spanx because I enjoy breathing and eating, but I do want something to kind of hold me in (and push the ladies up!). I'm not sure if a corset would work underneath my dress though or if it would be worth it. The dress is a zipper under faux buttons but it has this elasticy band that hugs my rib cage and has about 10 hook and eye closures. It's not really a corset and I think it's more about holding the dress to me than holding me together. I just worry that a corset will show around the waistline of the dress since it's very slim fitting. I'll add a pic of the dress to give you ladies an idea. TIA for all the help! (Sorry I don't have any pictures from the side, so this is the best I can do!)
im doing spanx and a strapless bra. i bougth a longline bra and i went to try on my dress and thought i was going to die lol. my body wasnt meant to wear a long line bra. too many rolls lol it was painful. the boning was bending everywhere and cutting into me. u got a kick *** body so should probably do a long line bra. i went to gorgettes and they werent too expensive.

Your dress is very beautiful. It's hard to tell but I'm thinking that a corset won't work -- I think the boning will show through your dress! That's the same reason I'm having cups or a bra sewn into my gown....You don't need spanx but if you want a little extra to hold you in...get a size larger (spanx) then you would normally wear. It'll hold you in and you'll still be able to breathe and eat!!! Good luck!!!

You're officially my favorite person ever peaches! LOL! Thank you!!
I'm going to try the long line bra and spanx in a larger size could work and then I guess I'd just get some kind of strapless push up bra because the ladies need a little oomph!

Thanks allsmiles! That's my biggest concern is that you'll be able to see it through the lace and especially at the bottom where the corset ends. I'm going to try the larger spanx! Thank you!

I never even thought about doing a larger spanx, that is agreat idea. I was actually going to give up on the idea of wearing spanx because I wore them in a wedding a couple of years back and I actually got a stomach ache from them....LOL

Ohhhh...it makes like soooo much easier!!! All you need is one size larger than what the package tells you and you're good as golden!!!

You could get one of those corset things that doesn't have the boning exposed - they call it a 'smooth seamless long line bra' at some stores (like here: http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49997435¤tIdx=9&subCategory=-49998498%7c-49997972%7c-49997435&catentryId=6097450&sort= )
But I agree Jill that you don't need anything to suck you in! I will be going the long-line-bra route... I HATE spanx, they do suck you in and all but the last wedding I was in I wore them and they kept rolling down (I had the high up ones over the mid-section) and I was soo uncomfortable. They work great if they just stay put, but I found them really annoying.

I think the corset boning would show through. I wore a heavy satin BM gown once and the bones showed. I think a longline bra would be a great choice, but make sure it's not too tight or it would be the same thing as Spanx.

Ahh that's happened to me before, too! I hate that it rolls. I'm definitely going to get the long line bra and maybe I'll try the spanx in a larger size. My first fitting isn't until February/March but I wanted to make sure I could find something comfortable!

i actually love my spanx. i got the high power spanx and theyre a lot better then the regular ones. but unfortunately theyre more expensive then the regular ones. i think i paid 70. they def work though. take 3 inches off my hips and 2 off my waist..

I have to agree with Peaches.....I Love my Spanx too! I bought the $70 Spanx & never had a problem; it's not too tight where i feel confined and never had it roll down. It also came with straps to hook onto ur bra so it doesnt roll down but i never had to use them yet.

You could just buy a pair of control top stockings and cut off the legs- much more comfy than spanx

Ooh- they come with straps? I've never seen them this way. This would be ideal!!
