i think this is a great idea...but if they dont go for it i think there is one on craigs list so i think they should so we can keep everyone on one site

just on a side note-
on lifamilies they have a 'for sale' thread on i believe fashion...
somebody just started a thread and people respond with what they have to sell, then update their original post once things are sold-we could always do something like that here, so the items are all in one long thread..

i was thinking that, but i think a lot of brides would find it easier if they could just scroll through the headings reading 'size 12 dress for sale'.... '20 vases for sale' etc. rather then going through page and page. at least on a 'for sale board' it'll be easier to maintain. and if several people reply asking info and the OP doesn't reply after lets say 4 weeks then CS could pull the thread.
on the dance site i'm on thats how they do it and they sell A LOT of stuff through that site.

I think its an awesome idea!! I'm totally for it...however........
I don't know if LIW will actually be able to do it though. Think about it from the legal aspect- if someone pays money for somethiing on LIW and the seller ends up NOT sending it out...that could put LIW in the difficult situation in having to handle it. I'm thinking Ron and Kim haven't responded to the thread for this reason..it might not be do-able.
Not that I wouldn't love to see a board like this- but thats just my 2 cents
it would be like a craigslist thing... as long as people play smart we shouldn't have to worry about this

Sure, we can talk about it! We tried this many many years ago. The result was people were forming fake profiles just to sell merchandise. The boards started to become a place of merchandise and not a place for people to plan their weddings hence we removed that particular board claiming never to do it again!
