Let's try this again....restaurant recommendations!

Can anyone recommend a few nice restaurants for a sit down dinner for 100 people? FH and I are on a strict budget and we might just do a church wedding and dinner at a restaurant afterwards.

I don't want a dance floor!!

Oh I'm sorry! Nassau County please, or possibly western Suffolk. The church is in Hempstead.

Rana's in Merrick on Merrick avenue. Italian food....Very yummy...and they do catering.

Filomena's on Hemsted Trnpike in Franklin Square is a great place for something like that.
They have a small seperate room that holds about 100 people and the food is delicous!!!!!
Someone I know had their engagement party there and it was very nice!

Also check out Alias Smith & Jones in Oceanside, they too have a small room and great food.

My nephew's christening was at Filomena's and was very good. I don't know if they would rent out the whole restaurant, but the Lucky Duck on Nassau Boulevard in Garden City is pretty reasonable price-wise and the food is good. I had my rehearsal dinner at Jonathan's on Jericho Tpke in Garden City Park and I think they can accommodate 100. I have never been disappointed with the food there.

I'll try to think of a few more and write back if I come up with anything.

I dont know if this is in the budget but for my high school graduation dinner, my parents rented out the greenhouse style room (I dont know what it is called) at Westbury Manor for just my family.

Try villa leone in lake success. My FH said the food is great and has a nice atmosphere

The Milleridge Inn & the Maine Maid Inn both have private rooms, I 'm not sure what the max. capacity is. We had out rehearsal dinner at the Maine Maid, it was very nice & cozy.

I'm not sure how much $ you will save onthe food- it may be the same as a lower ended reception price, but I guess you would save by not having a dj/band & centerpeices.
