letters from local gov't people

Hi!
I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same experience:
After your e-announcement was published in your local paper (if you submitted one), did you get letters congratulating you and your FI from your local gov't officials?

lol- talk about fishing for votes!
but it was a nice touch....

yes. i got them from most of them. i actually used to do this when i was an intern!

my FH got them from local STORES in his area!! can you believe that?

That's cool! Now I wish we had done that!!

When I let my alma mater know I was engaged they sent me a congratulatory letter, I thought that was really nice!
