LI WEDDINGS HELP!!!

How do I stop LI Weddings from giving out my e-mail address. My in box is covered in things that say as a LI Weddings member...

i had the same problems once with email. i was getting the same email 10 fold from one vendor everyday for a few days. I wrote to LI weddings and they said they don't give out addresses so I don't know if it's them, however, the vendor said it was LIWeddings.
Who knows.

I am getting it in my personal e-mail. They are also saying LIweddings is giving out my information. I just sent LI Weddings an e-mail. I work in Marketing and it is illegal to 1) not give the option to opt out of solicitations and 2) to give out information without disclosing that it will be shared. I am going to get to the bottom of this because I am really annoyed. I had over 50 e-mails in my inbox today most of which were wedding vendors. I am getting married in 2 months and I have booked everything already. I will let you know what I find out.

Considering I do this(marketing) for a living I should understand that they are just trying to get business. But there are lots of laws about this stuff. Having had my identity stolen once already and I have been stalked (ex-boyfriend-long story) I get very nervous when my information is shared and I was not aware that it would be nor was I asked if I wanted it to be!!!

It's too long to read, but basically if you supply the info voluntarily...they can use it...

Below came from a vendor who I e-mailed to remove me from their list!!!

Hi Jennifer. I just wanted to let you know I would removing you from my personal e-mail files, however being that I just received your name and info from liweddings.com, all of the other vendors on liweddings.com have your information too, and if they are planning on doing a 'mass' email to the brides, your name will automatically be included in this list. I generally try to avoid doing any mass emails, so I have more of a personal contact with each bride. If you want to try and avoid further vendor emails I'd suggest trying to contact liweddings.com directly. I hope you find this information helpful and if there's anything I can help you with in the future, please let me know

Funny they told you they don't give out e-mail. Just got an e-mail from LI WEDDINGS telling me where to find the terms I agreed to and that they would opt me out.

You all may want to opt out!!!

I used to get a lot of emails from vendors as well but I sent an email to LI wedding and since then...it's stopped.

I know for a fact that LI Weddings does email us b/c of friend of mine is a vendor and I got an email 'from' her one day that was very generic. When I asked her about it she said she never emailed me and called them about it. They do mass mailings to everyone on their lists and it looks like it comes from the vendor themselves!

I've gotten emails from vendors who are not available on my date...I know this b/c i personally spoke to them previously!!!!

i know this doesnt exactly solve the problem, but i have created an alter email account for such situations. whenever i sign up for something on the web i use that adress and know that i wont be bothered by anyone (i check the address a few times per week and basically just delete it all).

again, not really getting to the 'root' of the problem (nor fixing the one some of you have now) but just an idea for future reference! (and peace of mind!).
