LI Weddings, Issue with how you have set up email

The feature that allows you to send an email to another bride is flawed. When the email is received, people are under the impression that they can just hit reply and write back. You cannot. The email goes back to liweddings, and not to the person who wrote the mail, so we have not been receiveng our return emails. If you cannot fix this, can you at least put somekind of warning at the beginning or end of the email stating that you are unable to reply to remind everyone that their answers will never make it back to the person who asked the question.

Also, there used to be an option that let you email a post to yourself, or someone else for that matter, why did you get rid of that? It was very helpful, and let me send myself a copy of a thread that I though had important info.

that's strange - I've emailed users in the past - I just hit reply and it worked.

My own suggestion would be to include the copy of original text when replying to messages - it's so much easier to refer back to the original message when answering someone!

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. Here's what I mean...

On the bottom of a post, if you hit email, you can send an email to that person. When they receive it and want to reply back to you, the return address is not theirs, but a liweddings membermail address, so the email never get to that person, it simply gets lost.

It's not a flaw, but programmed that way for security reasons. Otherwise your email address will be visible.

@Email - will send an email directly to the poster.

Forum Email - is a message system built into LIWeddings.com. When you log into the board you'll be notified if you have any forum mail. You can read it and then reply to it. This way you can communicate with others without using your email address. And you'll have the messages available on any computer you use. The messages are stored on the system. So, you can read them at work and then answer them at home (as an example).

We added the following to all email sent through the board.

Please note that replying to this email will not send your message to the user emailing you. To email them back, please contact them via the LIWeddings.com Chit Chat email or forum mail options.

LIW - while we're on the subject, are vendors then 'allowed' to send emails to brides? I received one the other day and wasn't sure how they got my email address - at least now I know!
