Sorry, I shouldn't have worded that differently.

Well - I don't think they are lying at all. JMHO!

I think that they are just really excited that they like a particular vendor and want to share it with us.

I know that based on what some of the girls have said - I made appointments with those companies bc of their reputation on this site.

Any vendors that I say I like - I say it because I really like them!!

Sorry you feel that way!!

There actually have been times on LIW where vendors do pose as brides and post raves about themselves. That's why people on here are more cautious when we see a post that seems suspicious.

Some people think everyone is lying because they only have a few posts.
Sometimes they are 'fakies', sometimes not.

Re: Liars??

They are not necessarily lying, they are happy and bragging about their vendors...someone with a little bit of posts don't have to be lying either they could people that just read posts about good vendors book the good ones and only post when they book a vendor so of course their posts would not be a lot...but they not lying.

Of course, some people aren't fakies if they post about a vendor on their first or second post. But most people introduce themselves first, and ask some questions before posting about their own vendors. It's a rule of thumb, that's all.

Some are very very obvious.
I rememebr one that was entitled 'To all you Italian girls who don't listen to their mothers'
They were plugging some hall that had recently been re-done and the 'great' new owners and the 'Great' DJ that the hall reccommends. It was blatant. It even soundd like it was written by a man. Not that men can't be a LIW poster, but they were posing as a 'stubborn Italian girl' as they put it-I found the whole thing offensive.

I didn't know there were formal rules in place?

I didn't mean to say that everyone who raves about a vendor with only a few posts is lying. But if there is an especially suspicious post and the person only has a few posts, then they might be a vendor, and not a bride.

Sorry, I do think people jump on others for being a fakie a lot, but it has happened before, and no one likes being lied to.

Sorry, not rule of thumb. Bad wording.

There aren't! If you have any doubt, EVER, the best thing to do is to Contact LIW and let Ron & Liz (they are the site's 'runners' ) that you think someone might be a (that's the icon for 'liar' or 'fakie').
You can actually get banned for calling someone out if they're a true bride, plus you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings since some people are genuinely nice.

Don't go with 'the pack' when in doubt, shoot Ron a message...you can always contact LIW by clicking on the 'Contact LIWeddings' link at the bottom of the page (on the left).

Happy planning and welcome!
