Librarians where are you?

Librarians where are you?

Since I got laid off in March, I have been wracking my brain to think of something to do with my life that could use the knowledge I have gained from working in children's book publishing.

I am seriously considering going back to school and becoming a children's librarian.

Any words of wisdom? Advice? Encouragement?

I know Queens College has an excellent Master of Library Science program. Michelle graduated from it and I think had a hard time finding jobs but got an internship with NYC libraries. I forget her screen name...

cw post also has a good program. and i think pratt has a program. my best advice- get as many internships as you can while in school b/c if you graduate w/no experience (like me) you will have an incredibly difficult time finding a job. good luck!!

I'm not a librarian, but I just want to send some and say that I think it's great that you're exploring other avenues..when god closes a door, etc.,.. best of luck
