I heard on the radio that dogs in a certain part of CT must be registered by law. Do we have that in Nassau county and I don't know about it?

Got this off my town website:

New York State requires all dogs to be licensed for a fee of $15. The fee is reduced to $7 if your dog is spayed or neutered. Failure to license your dog could result in a summons or fine.

Wow I didn't know this either and we adopted our dog from Northshore animal league. You would think this would be something they would tell us.

This law is in effect but not really enforced.
