Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers vs. The Weather Room vs. Stage 6
Hey Everyone,
I am new to posting on this site although some of these threads appear in my desperate google searches to find information.
I was born and raised in Manhattan so it would be nice to have a NYC wedding.
I originally wanted a beachy wedding and I am still considering that as an option but I am torn between NYC and LI Beachy.
I like The Weather Room, which i think is a newer venue and there are not many reviews. I also like Stage 6 in Brooklyn or The lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. I guess I get to do NYC but still have the view of the water.
Any informtion anyone could provide about these venues, caterers, price, etc....would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I looked at a bunch of the same venues, and ended up going with a different Abigail Kirsch location - the New York Botanical Garden. If you are into the idea of a garden wedding with amazing food, you should check it out. The food is great at all of her venues though and we also really liked the LIghthouse at Chelsea PIers. I think I was quoted $235/pp plus tax and gratuity for a Saturday evening in April 2010. They have probably lowered their prices a little since I looked. I liked Steiner Studios also but it was a little too large and off the beaten path for me. Try Battery Gardens and Bridgewaters also.

My best friend's husband works at Chelsea Piers & the Light House. I believe he is a director of some sort. We were going to look there but it would be a burden on our guests to travel to and from the city, as a good majority of them are from LI. GL! I've heard it's beautiful & the food is greeeaaat

I went to look at the light house and it was really gorgeous, but ultra modern and we wanted a more traditional, vintage-y feel. I did hear they lowered their pph after i went, i think it was 240 ish. The abigale kirsch venues all have a great reputation. Did you check out the Puck building, toy building, or tribeca rooftop?

We looked at Steiner Studios and absolutely loved it!! We were quoted about $210 for a Sunday night wedding on a holiday weekend (we were looking at either memorial day or columbus day). We ended up choosing a place on Long Island which is closer to our families, but definitely check out Steiner Studios. BTW they definitely lowered their prices, a little pop-up thing even says so when you go on their website. Good luck!
