lighting
Hi LadiesSo we are having a band at the wedding. Now I know most dj companies do lighting in their packages. Does anyone know or can recommend where I can get lighting separately? Is lighting truly needed? Thanks ladies!

I'm not sure where you can get lighting separately, maybe ask your venue for suggestions? We got the uplighting through our dj and I think it really makes a difference in the room. Although I think it depends on your venue.

Definitely ask your venue. Lighting may already be included in your venue or they will definitely have associated vendors they work with all the time or recommend.

I agree, you should def check your venue, as the lighting may be built in like some other places. And although its not necessary, it def sets the mood, and dresses the room up. You can also use it to showcase your theme colors. I know one of the djs my fiancé and I saw offered pin lighting, which puts a spotlight on your centerpieces, I wanted it, but my FH thought it was an unnecessary cost. :(

Definitely sets the mood!
I saw the pin lighting too, it is nice to have. We are unsure what we are doing for center pieces. If we do candles I guess the pin lighting wouldn't be necessary.

Thanks ladies! Flowerfield has nice lighting hanging in their atrium which is where our reception will be. Also they have candles lining the pond in the room. We also have candles incorporated into the centerpiece. I am going to go there over my vacation to discuss some options and see what they suggest!

Being your wedding is in December, will the venue be decorated for Christmas? There may already be extra lighting

Flowerfield doesn't have the up lighting already installed. Like you said, we are having the DJ do it for us. I love the lighting over the dance floor that they have, but that room with uplighting really is amazing. When you go I'm sure if your ask them about it they can recommend someone to use if you guys want lighting. I will say the two preferred vendors we used so far gave us fantastic pricing!

Obviously, lighting will emphasis the romantic sense of the occasion, but I guess the band could take over such kind of thing,as they are more familar with it and definitely know its effect...though it may be pricey....
