We're doing a kind of winter wonderland theme, and we just got a great quote on lighting, which we wanted from the beginning. We wanted to do blue perimeter lighting , which is what our budget will allow for-- intelligent lighting isn't really a possibility, so we have to pick one color. We'll also have a snowflake projected on to the dance floor.
Ladies, do you think that the photographs from the reception will look strange if the room is lit in blue? I just don't want everyone to look sickly And so you think it will be too dark? Drunks in the dark worries me a little haha
I can't post a pic of it, but if you look at this site and check out #10, it will look similar to that and those are simliar CPs to the ones I'm getting.

i agree w denise...definitely ask your photographer. i know you may have your heart set on that lighting for the entire reception, but if he thinks it will make for some bad looking pictures, you might want to re-think having that blue lighting on for the entire reception. what if you have them on in the beginning, and then switch to regular ligthing at a certain point?
see what your photog says before you get crazy about it. maybe he will say your pics will be even better?! who knows, call him up!

yeah they will be able to help you out and tell you exactly what it will look like...Most places that do lighting and even Dj's that do it, usually start off with low lights at first but more towards the end make the lights alot more intense and thats when the music gets faster and heavier too, so maybe leaving the blue lights until later is better...Also in the beginning when our hair and make up still looks decent is better to have the better lighting

Good points. I have to talk to the lighting company too to see if they could start off subtle and get more dramatic as the night goes on. I don't want it to be so dark that people can't see whats on their plates

I think it would be georgeous.. When I asked my videographer, Adam said it would not make much of a diffrence in the video as you would think.

If the photo/video people say it will be ok, I'm definitely going to book it. It looks so sick! As long as the intensity of the color can be adjusted, but I have to call about that as well
