We went to see our DJ and there were all these lighting options that cost money. The basic was some strobe but then there was intelligent lighting and then came uplighting which I was told was very expensive. I am on a budget and going over. I don't want to break the bank. Will I be unhappy without the intelligent lighting and just strobe?

Re: Lighting questions
We aren't doing intelligent lighting or strobe. (I think it might bother the older ppl at the wedding) We are doing spotlights and uplights behind the dj booth and potentially some uplighting behind the sweetheart table. We were quoted 40 a light for uplighting. I don't remember who but someone else was quoted 25 a light for uplighting. HTH

Re: Lighting questions
We did not do any lighting package and no one noticed at all. Ours was an afternoon wedding in July, though, so it actually was still light out when we left that evening, so I don't know if that makes a difference. We had flickering votives on the tables so there was candle light everywhere, but we decided to forgo any additional lighting.
I've seen photos where the uplighting and other lighting options are really beautiful and gorgeous -- you'll just have to decide whether that's something you need for your wedding in order to have your wedding-day vision fulfilled, or if it's something you can cut out for budget purposes.
