I really don't like it in bright lights. At most maybe one candle far side of the room.. a soft glow but nothing too clear.

I don't like bright light in general, I prefer the lights dimmed. That is the great thing about dimmer switches, you can set the mood.

Either way is fine. Lights off tend to be the more romantic style while lights on is usually spur of the moment, tearing clothes of, can't waste time turning off the lights style
