Lil Spinoff from Denise' post...Dyeing your crinoline
Original post by jennandrolo
I got these instructions when I googled it so hopefully it helps those interested in dying their crinoline. I had to squint to retype those tiny instructions.
2) Dye premixed before putting it in. Hot water from the machine filled with one tablespoon of detergent.
3) Get the crinoline nice and wet with the warm water from the machine. Be Careful!
4) Pull out the crinoline and add the dye close to the machine and let it mix for a couple of seconds
5) Put in your crinoline. If you can use the center thing as a person, put it on it like a dress, this helps with bunching and wont cause a tiedye effect.
6) Make sure to get the crinoline all the way in there.
7) This is half way through. Make sure you go down and restart the cycle before the rinse cycle starts. For deeper color do it more than once.
8) This is once the waters drained and before it starts to spin dry. Nylon doesnt take dye like tulle does so it will be lighter than your tulle.
Alot of people use Ritdye. And you usually only need 1- 1/2 bottles.

anyone worried about it rubbing off on your skin or dress??
when i worked at a camp and tie dyed shirts it ran allllllllll over....and it was washed several times.....I would be upset if that happened to my dress. Such a cute Idea though!

I've used Ritt for a ton of stuff and never had an issue with it rubbing off or running. just make sure to follow the directions exactly as they are on the box. you can also run it again on it's own after running a water/bleach cycle with no fabric to clean out your machine... run it alone, with cold water. but honestly, i wouldnt worry too much
