Ok, since the vendors don't want to help me. . . . Bringing this question to you girls!
Did anyone use lilies in their bouquets and in their centerpieces?? I have pictures of what I would maybe want in my album. Well, were they expensive and do you know if they are in season in June? Were there any problems with them??
TIA!!
ETA: Oh and if you have some nice pics of them please post too!
Ok, got the pic working! THESE are the kind I want
I am using calla lilies in all my bouquets and the florist said they would be fine.

Re: Lilies?
The florist I went to said lillies don't last very long so each one has to be in a water tube if your using them in your boquet. Same thing with the centerpieces, they have to be in water or if they are in the oasis foam, it needs to be sitting in water all day.

I had calla lillies and they were fine still looked good the next day. The pic you have is of Stargazer lillies they are very pretty but they have a very strong smell. I would have loved to have them but the smell was too much for me.

i gotta say, although they are beautiful, stargazers smell awful..the scent is ridiculously strong, especially for CP'S cause theyll be around food.. i think theres a way of removing the middle thingy that lessens the smell, but i do still think they smell,,make sure you ask!!

It looks like you are looking for an astiac (sp?) lily more sop than calla lily. I believe they are in season in the summer, but Im not super sure of that. Def try to google different lilies and see which is the kind you want and then google wedding flowers by season or something like that. Goodluck!
I'm not sure how they hold up, but I know a lot of people (myself included) are highly allergic to that specific type of lily pictured (stargazers). My florist told me it's one of the most highly allergic flowers for some reason. Just something to consider. It's such a shame too because they are so beautiful!!!!
They are also often used in funeral arrangements and may remind people of that...just my two cents!

i was just going to say the same thing, these have a VERY strong smell. I had 5 in a bouquet of flowers DH gave me once, and I had to get rid of them, they gave me a headache.

Wow, I didn't know so many people didn't like the smell of these! I just got an arrangement (a feel better) with a couple of them in it and I didn't mind it. . .. Maybe if I add some roses to take away from the smell. . . .I have heard of people taking that thingy in the middle out so people don't get reactions to it. . . Has anyone seen them in arrangements with roses?? Cuz I really have liked them for a while. . . .But I don't want to harm my guests

I have to say, as pretty as those lillies are, their scent definitely reminds me of wakes of funerals.
