limo - is it OK to do this?

limo - is it OK to do this?

Sooo... FH and I have decided that we really want to go in the limo with the bridal party between the church and the reception. It saves money on not having to get our own car, and we also want to spend the time with our friends. Is this normally done, or are the bride and groom supposed to have a second car and drive by themselves? It just seems silly to get a second car for the two of us when we'd prefer to be partying in the limo with our friends anyway!

Any opinions? TIA!

I don't see why you can't share a limo with your BP. I think it's a great idea! When I was a BM in my friends wedding this summer we all went together in the same limo and it was fun! Besides even if you go in a limo by yourselves, you're not really alone because you'll have the limo driver there if it's not a stretch limo, and that can feel kind of awkward.

I am doing something similar.
We are a small 10 people bridal party.
One limo is picking FH and groomsman from his dad's house (15 blocks from church)

Then going to pick me and bridesmaids up (10 blocks from church) at our house.

After we are all going in one limo to the reception hall.

Its normal, it was the Limo company that actually suggested we do thisa after going through some of our info for that day!

Good luck!

Re: limo - is it OK to do this?

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't totally inappropriate or something. I never thought twice about it until I was talking about it at work, and a girl was like 'you're going in the same limo as the BP??' as though it was really weird...

The thing too is that a lot of people in the bridal party don't know each other, and I feel like it would be more comfortable/fun for everyone if FH and I were there too... I mean, why wouldn't you want to spend as much time as possible with your closest friends on your wedding day?? Me and FH have the rest of our lives to be alone together!

Thanks ladies!

I agree about it being more comfortable and a lot more fun.
I think the only time I knew a bride and groom to go alone was when they booked an antique car to take them to RH (there was only room for driver and them)!

we're going in the limo with the bridal party!!!! we have done this for other weddings we've been in....its so much fun! you make toasts and get the party started!!!! you'll have time to be alone later......IMHO I cant imagine spending an extra few hundred bucks to ride alone for 20-30 mins.....be with your close friends and family for that time, b/c the rest of the nite you'll be busy greeting and eating and doing other things.

We only had one limo and the BP was in it with us before the ceremony and after the ceremony...nothing wrong with that.

People get the second car b/c they like to have that initial 'Just Married' ride alone-you get to kind of take it all in during that time I guess. I enjoyed having our BP around us instead of being alone.

I totally agree - we rented a limo bus and are going to ride with our bridal party. I think it's really up to the individual in terms of what they would prefer to do.

we're getting married at the RH, but i'm taking a limo with the girls and my parents and FH is going with the boys and his parents. saving $$$ is key.

We are going with our BP. A few people told us that by going in our own car it's really the only time we'll have our alone time on the crazy day. I'm not concerned about that. FH and I can go into the Bridal Suite for a little bit for our alone time. That's when I'm going to give him his wedding gift.

I am taking the Limo Bus with my Mom and all my Bridesmaids to the church and then we (FH and I) are riding to the East Wind with our Bridal Party in the Limo Bus

same for us--limo will pick up FH & GM at hotel and bring to church, then come get me and BM at my parents house (5 min from church)....then we will all ride together from ceremony to reception

Its completely up to you, I've heard of the bride & the groom doing both. FH and I have our own car so we have at least 20 minutes alone before the reception.
